Tennis Tip #7: Footwork

Arrowhead Tennis teaching professional Nick Hansen discusses footwork in this video. Footwork is one of the most underrated aspects of tennis. The swing, contact point, and grip are all very important on your groundstrokes, but without the proper footwork, nothing is going to work very well. Keep your feet constantly moving like a boxer, and take little steps to get to the ball and readjust to get an ideal contact point. Do not take big, lunging steps. Also, when you are playing a big match, footwork becomes even more paramount, the more nervous that you are, the more you need to keep those feet moving. Hope this helped and hope to see you at Arrowhead!
