Tennis Tip #28

Arrowhead Tennis Center presents this Thursday tennis tip video on tennis etiquette and basic match strategy. Tennis teaching professional Nick Hansen discusses tennis etiquette such as saying the score and making your line calls clearly and loudly, not challenging opponent’s line calls, and being positive. Most of the tennis greats have a positive attitude, bouncing back from misses and defeats very quickly. Think Roger Federer and Serena Williams. Being positive also makes you a better doubles partner and teammate. On the strategy front, make lots of first serves, putting pressure on your opponent and cut down on your R.O.S.E.S. (Return of Serve Errors). On big points, hit to your opponent’s weaker stroke, this is one of the simplest and most effective way to win big points. Finally, remember to keep your feet moving and to take deep breaths before serving on big points. These are two little thinks that go a long ways. Have fun!
